119 Clay
The clay room in Wey Hall is one of the most lively studios in the art department at Appalachian State. There is a camaraderie between students that create a driven, productive atmosphere. At any time of the day there seems to be students working, sharing ideas and enjoying each others company. The clay process is unlike any other art form in Wey Hall, there are many unique components tied into being a ceramic artist such as: the kiln and learning about temperatures, how glazes react to different types of clay, trimming mugs, and managing reclaimed clay; all of these aspects require a strong community to run smoothly. I consider myself fortunate to have been in the presence of these amazing ceramicists and want them to know I care about them, and hope they appreciate these photos, that not only show the clay making process, but also show-case all of their hard work.
