As I was working on these photographs I couldn't help thinking about how I fit into my surroundings both visually and physically. The more I shot the increase of discomfort of not belonging arose. My definition of 'best friend' is not feeling uneasy walking into their house without knocking. I have no best friend or close family in Boone. I do have a place with friends, and a supportive circle I am very grateful for but no one that I deeply trust.
